Motherhood

Motherhood

How lovely is motherhood

If only it could be fully understood

How the mum shapes the growing child

To be good-tempered, graceful and mild

Not stupid and wild

Please don’t send your child to school

To be shaped into a system tool

Or the world’s greatest fool

Taught to obey every tyrannical rule

And to behave like a stupid mule

For a system that’s heartless and cruel

Educate your child in creativity

To love the country, not the city

To be joyful and witty

And to look very pretty

It’s not everyday that you’ll create life

So help them not to live in strife

Because sorrow only cuts like a knife

So be a good mother and wife

And when you visit the hereafter

You’ll be glad to hear your children’s laughter

Until you all meet again

In forever ‘happy ever after’
