Ever since Dr. Judy Wood openly declared her “unrequited love” of Dr. Jim Fetzer, truthers have been inundating my email inbox with their own secret love confessions – such confessions range from expressions of purely platonic love to the highly sensual and romantic type of love. Love letters have been pouring in from many prominent truthers eager to re-establish their long-lost truther relationships, and hoping for some sort of mediation to make their dreams come true again. Despite all evidence to the contrary, Gordon Duff and Dennis Cimino secretly love and admire Jim Fetzer, and Jim Fetzer secretly loves his on-off life-long Dynamic Duo partner named Kevin Barrett, Tony Rooke loves Richard Gage and Gordon Duff as his true amigos, Christopher Bollyn secretly loves Steve De’ak and now spends all of his time researching everything about him – such as his ethnic origin, life and name history, and information about his long-lost Jewish relatives. The list of truther secret ‘love’ goes on and on. Most recently Brian Staveley asked the following about his secret platonic love of Steve De’ak: “Not sure if Steve cares for me or not but he knows me for sure and I have nothing but respect for him…If you talk to Steve say hello for me.”
When I wrote to Steve De’ak to say that Brian had said “Hi” to him, I was surprised by the level of unrequited brotherly love between them, when Steve replied as follows:
“Hah, and here I thought it was he and his buddies who don’t care for me. We’re like ships passing in the night – unrequited truther lovers, as it were.”
I am truly humbled by the recent truther outpouring of emotion and love for one another. I had grossly “mis-underestimated” truthers within the truth movement. I mistakenly thought that the only reason why truthers had managed to achieve absolutely nothing in over 16 years of infighting, was because evil demonic entities were destroying human unity and love – but now I know the real reason for such lack of unity. The cause of it is much more down-to-earth, simple and seemingly innocent. It’s the shy realisation that one is actually truly deeply in love with ones opponent in the truth community. We’ve all heard the mysterious saying: “The more things change; the more they stay the same”, well that was a precursor to the current truther saying: “The more one loves; the more one stagnates in unrequited love!”
The force of “unrequited love” is truly a formidable one. However, fear not! Dr. Love is here to save the day. There is only one possible cure for “unrequited love” within the truth movement, and that is simply to remember the real reason why we were all born in this world in the first place. The Quran tells us that we (as humans) were created for the sole purpose of worshipping our Creator – which means that nothing on this Earth should ever replace our constant love for Almighty God alone.
Great lovers often decry the fickleness of human ‘love’:
“Almost ALL of the people I know in “real life” have blocked or unfriended me on Facebook (as well as in reality) b/c I don’t hold back. I am so interested in and passionate about the things I see happening that I finally crossed the threshold to where the truth matters more to me than what anyone thinks of me. And boy is that a freeing feeling. Not that I haven’t paid a heavy price for it though…socially that is. But I’d much rather be alone than in shallow company anyways, so it doesn’t bother me much.”
When everyone has turned their backs on us, or “blocked” us out of their life for our truth-telling, then it is to God alone that we should all turn to – at all times – not just in our hour(s) of need. We should do everything in the name of Love – in the name of Almighty Allah, with the Muslim superhero declaration: “Praise be to Allah, the Lord of the worlds, who gave us life and unto Him will be the return.”
All love (especially self love) within this earthly realm drifts into insignificance – when compared to the innate human need for God’s eternal pure Love, which we all acknowledged in our primordial covenant with our Creator – so that our acknowledgement of The Truth became embedded in our hearts, in what C.S. Lewis describes as being the “secret signature of each soul”. The unspoken universal human need to eventually return to Allah is expressed by C.S. Lewis, as follows:
“You may have noticed that the books you really love are bound together by a secret thread. You know very well what is the common quality that makes you love them, though you cannot put it into words: but most of your friends do not see it at all, and often wonder why, liking this, you should also like that. Again, you have stood before some landscape, which seems to embody what you have been looking for all your life; and then turned to the friend at your side who appears to be seeing what you saw — but at the first words a gulf yawns between you, and you realise that this landscape means something totally different to him, that he is pursuing an alien vision and cares nothing for the ineffable suggestion by which you are transported. Even in your hobbies, has there not always been some secret attraction which the others are curiously ignorant of — something, not to be identified with, but always on the verge of breaking through, the smell of cut wood in the workshop or the clap-clap of water against the boat’s side? Are not all lifelong friendships born at the moment when at last you meet another human being who has some inkling (but faint and uncertain even in the best) of that something which you were born desiring, and which, beneath the flux of other desires and in all the momentary silences between the louder passions, night and day, year by year, from childhood to old age, you are looking for, watching for, listening for? You have never had it. All the things that have ever deeply possessed your soul have been but hints of it — tantalising glimpses, promises never quite fulfilled, echoes that died away just as they caught your ear. But if it should really become manifest — if there ever came an echo that did not die away but swelled into the sound itself — you would know it. Beyond all possibility of doubt you would say “Here at last is the thing I was made for”. We cannot tell each other about it. It is the secret signature of each soul, the incommunicable and unappeasable want, the thing we desired before we met our wives or made our friends or chose our work, and which we shall still desire on our deathbeds, when the mind no longer knows wife or friend or work. While we are, this is. If we lose this, we lose all.” – C.S. Lewis, The Problem of Pain
“Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself” (Luke10: 27)
